Saturday, July 12, 12 noon Rain Date is Sunday, July 13, 12 noon Attention all Urban Parrot fans: the next Wild Brooklyn Parrot Safari will happen on Saturday, July 12, 2008, at 12 Noon. All interested wild parrot fans should meet at Brooklyn College's Hillel Gate, which is at the intersection of Hillel Place and Campus Road. Our tour runs in two sections. You can attend either section, or both, depending on how many wild parrots you'd like to see! Second section is from 2:30 to 5:00 pm at Greenwood Cemetery. Email steve@brooklynparrots.com me if you want to attend, so I know how many folks are coming. Note: the rain date for this trip is Sunday, July 13th, same monk time, same monk location. "Double Dog" Extravaganza: F.I.D.O. 10th Anniversary and Mayor's Alliance/Maddie's Pet Adoption Festival - at Prospect Park (15th Street/Bartel Pritchard Circle entrance), Brooklyn. FIDO is hosting this adoption festival in honor of their 10th anniversary. In addition to adoptable cats, dogs, kittens, and puppies, this event features a steel drum band, low-cost microchipping ($25, includes insertion and registration) for dogs and cats, and Ask the Veterinarian, Ask the Trainer, Ask the Groomer, and Ask The TTouch Practitioner booths. Also, the Companion Animal Parasite Council (CAPC) will have a van at the event where people can learn about identifying and protecting their pets from parasites. At eySpan Park, Coney Island, Brooklyn. A full day of activities starting at 4:30 pm with dog and cat adoptions; 5:30 pm low-cost ($25) microchipping for dogs of game ticket-holders; Gates open 5:30 pm and game begins 7:00 pm. Bring your dog to the ballpark as the Brooklyn Cyclones face the Batavia Muckdogs! Dogs, cats, puppies, and kittens will be available for adoption outside the front gate, and low-cost ($25) microchipping will be available for dogs of ticket-holders.
